Omniplanar's SwiftVerify is the only bar code verification software toolkit available for the AIDC industry today. SwiftVerify enables easy, quick and accurate verification of bar codes based on ISO/IEC and ANSI specifications due to its ability to utilize 2D images to immediately provide verification results without the need for multiple scans of a bar code.

1D Codes:
  • Code 39
  • Code 93
  • Code 128
  • Codabar
  • Interleaved 2 of 5
  • RSS
  • Trioptic
  • UPC/EAN/JAN
Postal Codes:
  • POSTNET (MERLIN compatible)
  • PLANET

Portability - Code is easily ported to hand-held or fixed area imagers using embedded processors.

Multiple Spec Support - ISO/IEC 15416:2000 specification, ANSI letter grades and MERLIN Postal grading are all supported.

Customization - Seven grading criteria can be individually enabled depending on the verification application.

Instant Multi-Scan - Up to 25 scan lines are used to instantly grade any code in one shot.

Data Output - Data is provided in an XML string allowing the collection of all the data needed for each application.

Value - Adds tremendous value to existing bar code imaging scanners.

Specification Support - Satisfy multiple application requirements with ISO/IEC, ANSI and Merlin specification support.

Flexibility The ability to enable each of seven grading criteria allows users to overcome common environmental issues such as inconsistent illumination without compromising results.

Speed - Grading all scan lines in one shot greatly increases the speed of verification over traditional swipe methods.

Efficiency - Workplace efficiencies are increased by enabling operators to use the same hardware for both scanning and verification.

SwiftVerify's advantage over traditional bar code verification hardware is the fact that it uses 2D images to instantly provide verification results. Using one image allows SwiftVerify to return both more accurate and faster verification results using evenly spaced scan lines across the bar code.

Some developers like the fact that will SwiftVerify they can customize the number of scan lines used from 1 - 25 and they can control which of the seven grading criteria are enabled. Having control over the grading criteria lets them eliminate environmental issues such as inconsistent illumination. They also seem to enjoy the convinient XML string that SwiftVerify outputs its data on.

Standard scanning method with other verification products

SwiftVerify simulateously scans 10* evenly spaced lines across the code

* # of scan lines is adjustable from 1 - 25.
The following table provides the ISO grade with the equivalent ANSI grade:
ISO Numeric Range ANSI Grade Color Code Example
35 to 40 A Code
25 to 34 B Code
15 to 24 C Code
5 to 14 D Code
Below 5 F Code

The following 7 Criteria are used in grading the bar codes:

Decode - Checks if the scan line data can pass the reference decode algorithm

Symbol Contrast - Checks the difference between the minimum and maximum reflectance of the scan line

Minimum Reflectance - Checks the minimum reflectance is less than half of the maximum reflectance

Minimum Edge Contrast - Checks the smallest edge contrast found in the scan line

Modulation - Checks the ratio of the minimum edge contrast to the symbol contrast

Defects - Checks for reflectance non-uniformity along the scan line

Decodability - Checks the accuracy of the bar code printing and image in relation to the appropriate symbology reference decode algorithm
